Students will discuss the concepts of microbiology and disease transmission. Students will learn charts, vital signs, measurements, visual acuity, patient positioning, and drapes. Students will learn to identify equipment, perform sterile procedures, including suture removal, and assist surgeons in small office surgeries. Physical therapy, pediatric and pediatric care, and medical office safety concepts are discussed along with patient instruction and laboratory procedures such as venipuncture and capillary puncture, urinalysis, and Gram stain testing, along with sections on microscopy, hematology, microbiology, and chemistry training. .
